He is survived by his wife of thirty one years; Joan (Tyler) Fortmiller.
Ed served his country in 1968-1969 at the 24th Evacuation Hospital in Vietnam as a corpsman. He spent twenty five years with Digital Equipment Corp. as a computer software engineer. He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist church serving in many capacities including; deacon, and webmaster for the College Church in S. Lancaster.
